Harry Triguboff is the largest builder of apartments in Australia through his company Meriton Apartments. Lately is focusing on building apartments that rent rather than sell them.
Triguboff was born in China of Russian parents who fled the country during the Bolshevik revolution. He learned about real estate when he visited his father in the works in China.
He emigrated to Australia at age 28. He drove a taxi before being the first to warn the increased demand for apartments in Sydney. Bentleys have three cars.

Early life
He was born in Darien (Dalian), China on March 3, 1933, son of Moishe and Freda Triguboff. He spent his early childhood in the white Russian Jewish community in Tianjin (Tientsin then spelled) in the south of Beijing before coming to Australia in 1947 to be educated at the University of Scots in Sydney. He later graduated with a degree in Textiles from Leeds University in England before working in textile businesses in Israel and South Africa.

He returned to Australia in 1960 and became an Australian citizen in 1961. He drove a taxi and owned a milk operation before establishing Meriton apartments and build the first block of units in 1963. This time he has since developed into one of the most successful property developers in Australia. While it was regarded by some as a rich philanthropist, the $ 9 million he gave to charity in 2005 were only 0.69% of their net wealth.
In 2006 Triguboff was ranked the 606th richest man in the world with a fortune of about $ 1.3 billion.
He is married and has two daughters, Rhonda, Orna and Sharon.
Controversy
Triguboff caused controversy in October 2006 when he claimed that Sydney has too much land was locked up in national parks and reserves, and that the land must be cleared to make way for new residential developments.

In particular he has concentrated on the Gold Coast in Queensland, and Sydney central business district, bringing in thousands of new residents and creating a large number of property millionaires in the process. More people bought the Meriton apartments than any other residential developer in the country.
In 2004, completed construction of Meriton World Tower, the building's highest residential apartment Sydney.
