John Michael Sobrato has been involved with the family owned The Sobrato Organization for over 25 years. As CEO, he sets the strategic direction for the firm’s 7.7 million square foot commercial portfolio in the Bay Area, its 7,500 unit residential portfolio in the western states and its global portfolio of marketable securities.
John and his late wife Abby have two sons, John, 22 years, and Jeff, 21 years. John is very involved in the local community and, in addition to serving as Chair of the Board of Directors of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, he is concurrently serving as Chair of the Board of Regents of Santa Clara University and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Bellarmine College Preparatory.
He has also served as past chair or past president of KTEH Public Television, Catholic Charities of San Jose, the San Jose Repertory Theater, Charities Housing Development Corporation and the Board of Fellows of Santa Clara University.
